It’s always enjoyable to take a trip to Sidney, no matter what you’re doing: it is simply a charming place to pass a relaxing and fun few days. If you do want to do something a bit more organised, however, you won’t have to look very far. The city provides plenty of fun one-off events for visitors and locals alike to enjoy during the summer months. Coming up in July we have three fun, different events -- a free outdoor concert, a market that’s perfect for finding those souvenirs, and a tribute to one of rock music’s best bands.

Is there anything more enjoyable than sitting outside on a warm summer’s day, looking out over a perfect view, and being serenaded by music? Not in our book. At the Summer Sounds Concert Series, that’s just what you’ll be able to experience. Taking place on July 21 from 2 - 4pm, it’ll feature a performance from Dockside Drive, who will be rattling their way through music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s.
Head down to Beacon Avenue every Thursday evening until the end of August, and find a souvenir at the largest outdoor market on Vancouver Island. Closed to traffic, the street will feature merchants, food vendors, and a terrific atmosphere.
You might not be able to see Ozzy Osbourne rock out live anymore, but you can see the next best thing! Bourne to Be Ozz will be performing the artist’s best known tracks on July 27 at the Whisper Centre.
Make sure you’re returning to the best hotel in Sidney after you’ve finished having all that fun. At the Best Western Plus Emerald Isle, you’ll receive comfortable and spacious accommodations, and also be able to enjoy amenities that include a fitness centre, complimentary wifi, and an onsite restaurant.
